The houses are painted white with blue domes, while there are bursts of colour in the gray sands due to the volcano. Rent a bicycle or scooter and explore the island, or follow one of the gorgeous walking trails around this unique island. Make your way to the highest point on the island, Pyrgos, and admire the picturesque monastery, or take a trip to the beach – there are secluded swimming spots for those who want to chill out, or beaches with umbrellas and bars that feel more like a club. From Santorini you can cruise to other famous Greek islands such as Symi, Kos and Rhodes, and Turkey's stunning Turquoise Coast is across the sea.
