Antalya
Antalya is a mixture of old and new. Those interested in history and culture will have plenty of keep them busy by day while once the sun goes down they can enjoy everything from cinema and theatre to live music and fine dining.
Kaleici
The Old Town is an area of narrow cobbled streets descending down to the coast and the original small harbour. It is full of old Ottoman houses, bars, hotels and pensions, restaurants and small shops selling everything from ordinary souvenirs to carpets.
Hadrian’s Gate and the old City Walls are just two of the historical remnants on show. Hıdırlık Tower, the Clock Tower, Karatay Medrese built in 1250 by Emir Celaleddin Karatay and Kesik Minare (Broken Minaret) Mosque, formerly a Roman temple converted to a Byzantine Panaglia church and finally into a mosque are other sights to explore.
Museums
The Antalya Museum is known for its archaeology collection.
Kaleici also has a new museum opened just a few years ago. In addition there are Atatürk's House Museum, Antalya Toy Museum and Suna & İnan Kıraç Kaleiçi Museum to visit.
