Poyraz Bay
Poyraz Bay
Poyraz means Northeast Wind in Turkish. The name is fitting, as the bay is always windy. This bay is just out of Bodrum and sitting on the back of the Black Island. The wind here is always cool, a sort of great refreshment on the hot summer days. Asides from the crystal clear aqua waters, one can view the many different rock formations below the surface. Swimming and snorkelling options are available. But this bay is also an ideal point for all types of scuba divers. From beginners, advanced and open water divers can all enjoy all the beauties that lie beneath the water’s surface. The bay is home to an array of water creatures, of which include octopus, moray eels, starfish, sea sponges and several species of small fish. There is one area that is open for beginners and another that is restricted to advanced divers only. When diving into the deeper reef, beware of the strong current and also the gullet traffic out of the bay.
From this point should you already be on a cruise or not, make your way to explore other Turkish bays around the area of Bodrum such as Akyur Bay, Meteor Bay and Cokertme Bay.
